 1)      Greater focus on hybrid cloud UC solutions

During COVID-19, cloud-based communication solutions garnered significant interest among customers. However, the latest research by Frost & Sullivan suggests hybrid deployments are projected to rise to nearly 80% by 2026.

Many businesses have realised that fully cloud-based solutions are not the only answer, as they are not sure of data sovereignty, which is particularly important for companies operating in specific industries.

Many businesses will be looking to adopt a hybrid solution that allows them to consume services in a subscription model while retaining control of their data and core operating platforms.

Mitel’s new portfolio strategy, amplified by the acquisition of Unify, combines the best of both worlds with the right mix of on-premises control and cloud flexibility and is focused on delivering hybrid solutions that support security, reliability, privacy, compliance and data sovereignty.

2) Increasing demand for vertical solutions

­There is an increased demand now for UC solutions tailored to vertical business needs among customers. To address this, Mitel’s new portfolio focuses on solutions for five verticals primarily – healthcare, financial services, public sector, education and hospitality.  This includes solutions such as Virtual Care Collaboration Service (VCCS) for healthcare and OpenScape Xpert for financial, economic, and energy trading houses.

Mitel has also expanded its vertical partnership ecosystem, collaborating with over 500 strategic technology partners, ensuring customers can access specialised solutions tailored to their needs.

3) More capabilities for frontline workers

Frontline workers outnumber knowledge workers by 4:1, but still, they are significantly underserved by current communications solutions. Mitel is addressing this with solutions for frontline workers such as DECT handsets for demanding workplaces like hospitals, construction sites, and factories and AI capabilities for contact and call centre solutions.
