Customer Story
LCF Law
From ad-hoc mobile management to a secure, scalable fleet with CloudClevr
Background
LCF Law is a Yorkshire law firm providing legal support to individuals and businesses since 1988. Headquartered in Bradford, with offices in Leeds, Harrogate, and Ilkley, they act as trusted advisors to customers, providing service that is personal, proactive, and built around customer needs.
We spoke to James Hood, IT Director at LCF Law, about how they reshaped the firm’s mobile device strategy, making it secure, structured and cost-effective.
The Challenge: A mobile estate without structure
When James joined LCF Law as IT Director three years ago, mobile management was outside of IT and handled on an ad-hoc basis.
Devices were purchased like any other office supply, contracts weren’t being regularly reviewed, and mobile security wasn’t where it needed to be. Most handsets were essentially retail devices bundled with contracts, without the oversight or controls you’d expect from a modern IT environment.
James saw an opportunity to bring mobile into IT – and wanted a partner to manage it with the same structure, security, and strategic thinking as the rest of the firm’s technology.
“I’d worked with NGC Networks for years in my previous role and had a fantastic relationship with them. By the time I joined LCF, NGC had become part of CloudClevr, but it was the same people, the same service, and the same trust,” says James.
The Solution: A service that feels personal
For LCF, working with CloudClevr has meant more than just reliable service; it’s about flexibility and proactive support.
“When we have an issue or if we need something new, it’s sorted quickly. I’ve got a dedicated point of contact at CloudClevr who helps me with anything I need answers to,” says James.
The flexibility CloudClevr provides has been a game-changer. If an employee moves to an area with poor coverage, CloudClevr can switch them mid-contract to another network provider. Regular reviews with their mobile specialist also mean James is kept ahead of market trends and new options.
“CloudClevr is part of a much larger technology group, which gives us extended wholesale relationships and ultimately more options as a customer.”
But it’s the relationship that really stands out.
“We’re not CloudClevr’s biggest customer, but we get the level of personal support that makes us feel like we’re you’re only customer, which is great.”
The leasing advantage: Mobility without the CAPEX pain
To support a mobile and hybrid workforce, LCF has also moved to a leasing model through CloudClevr’s partnership with Rigby Capital. Instead of paying a heavy upfront CAPEX, costs are spread over the life of the contract.
“Our CloudClevr mobile specialist highlighted strong market trends moving towards leasing. We’ve adopted it for mobile devices and it works really well for us.”
The benefits are clear:
- No upfront investment weighing on cash flow.
- Flexibility to scale as the workforce changes.
- Devices fully managed and provisioned by CloudClevr.
The result: Secure, scalable, worry-free mobility
Today, LCF Law has a secure and well-managed mobile fleet supporting its employees across four offices. The IT team doesn’t have to spend time addressing mobile issues – they’re free to focus on strategic projects that matter to the business.
From unmanaged contracts and unsecured devices to a future-proofed, flexible, and fully supported mobile estate, LCF Law’s mobile journey shows what happens when the right strategy meets the right partner.
