Telephone Numbers & NGNs
NGC offer a wide range of inbound telephone numbers and call routing solutions for business UK based, as well as internationally. We will work with you to find the right number for your business. From 0800, to 03 and local calling numbers, we have the right option for you.
NGC provide both the on-site and network-based functionality so are ideally placed to explain the benefits of these non-geographical phone number solutions to businesses. Non geographic numbers (NGNs) are telephone numbers not assigned to a geographic location. The owner may forward their NGN to a geographic, mobile, or international location. Call costs depend on the prefix of the number called, not on the final destination. Mobile users pay a premium when calling 08 numbers.
0800/Freephone Numbers – 0800 and 0808 numbers are free to the caller and chargeable to the owner of the NGN.
03 Numbers – The 03 prefixes introduced in 2007, with calls charged the same as 01 and 02 numbers, add benefit to consumers, however are chargeable to the owner of the NGN. These numbers provide a national contact, with the added benefit of being charged at the same rate as a local geographic number.
Chargeable 08 Non-Geographic Numbers – 0844, 0843, 0871 and 0872 numbers typically cost around 5p per minute to the caller and can generate revenue to the owner.
01/02 Numbers – Give the perception of being local to any town or city in the UK. The Number can be pointed to any landline or mobile.
Additional functionality, such as Auto Attendant, Call Recording, Call Queuing, Complex Call Routing (by geographical area, etc) are all available as network features on NGNs, which often removes the need to invest in additional equipment or lines on-site.
