Calibre Search partners with CloudClevr for technology upgrade.
Calibre Search is a specialist recruitment consultancy operating in the Built Environment (Consultancy & Construction), HVAC / Refrigeration, Building Maintenance and IT sectors throughout the UK. They pride themselves on working within their core values of honesty, integrity and transparency. As a niche consultancy, they offer service excellence through a strong network of contacts and intimate knowledge of chosen sectors.
Calibre was looking to upgrade its telephone system quickly to facilitate hybrid working so that the team could work effectively regardless of location.
The challenge
Speaking to candidates and clients is an essential part of the role in the life of a busy recruiter, so it’s essential to have the technology to support effective business communications.
When the COVID pandemic hit, like many businesses, Calibre Search needed to quickly set up a hybrid working environment that would enable their team to work flexibly, both remotely and in the office.
In addition, the legacy ISDN platform which had proved reliable in the past, was set to become end-of-life in 2025, so they needed to migrate to a new solution to future-proof their business.
The solution
A loyal Avaya user, Calibre’s most recent upgrade was to an Avaya IP Office solution, hosted in a virtual data centre providing a secure and resilient environment.
Avaya licences provide flexible mobile working options with access to all IP Office system features. Seamless call handling is achieved, and softphones have been provided so the team can easily make calls through their laptop.
As part of the new solution Calibre was migrated to an SIP solution, which provides greater resiliency and flexible working, futureproofing their connectivity when the 2027 switch-off comes into force.
The new telephony solution includes 1st and 2nd line support, provided by CloudClevr’s (through its NGC business unit) experienced in-house technical team. The system also benefits from Avaya IPOSS for automatic software upgrades.
When it came to their business mobiles, Calibre users were on the O2 and EE networks but were initially billed by each network and had to deal with two sets of bills, billing platforms and customer services. CloudClevr was able to offer both networks for the customer under one roof.
The results
A unified communications solution gives Calibre more versatility to pursue strategies that were impossible with the old phone system.
Hybrid working is now the norm for Calibre with a solution in place which facilitates flexible working regardless of location. The Avaya IP Office solution is scalable and can grow alongside the business.
From a technology perspective, everything is centrally managed by CloudClevr, removing the management burden, and billing is fully transparent.
The new SIP solution has provided reassurance that Calibre is future-proofed when the ISDN switch-off comes into force in 2027. Alongside this, there are substantial cost savings with free calls to UK landlines and mobiles.
By procuring their business mobiles through CloudClevr, Calibre now benefits from one central bill regardless of network, a central portal to access usage data, one point of contact for business mobiles and ongoing support making the management far easier.
