School saves £15000 from multi-site telephony solution
Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) was born out of the success of Outwood Grange, a large school of 2,200 students which has achieved record exam results every year for the past 10 years.
OGAT is a multi-academy sponsor and the family of schools currently comprises thirty schools who work together to ensure that all children irrespective of their starting point receive excellent education.
The challenge
Educational institutions like many public sector organisations are being asked to do more with less, as their budgets are being stretched in the present economic conditions.
As a result, these organisations now need to scrutinise every aspect of their investment to ensure a solid return and the right decisions for their pupils to enhance their learning.
The Trust had grown over recent years and taken on additional academies, but there was no uniformity across the sites when it came to technology.
The Trust saw an interconnected telephony solution between the academies as a way to improve efficiency, while also realising cost savings.
The solution
Outwood Grange Academies Trust embarked on a phased replacement programme of legacy telephone systems at each of its schools as they came up for renewal. Each site now benefits from the latest Avaya IP-based platform, which offers greater functionality.
The new multi-site solution not only provides benefits for the trust and its staff but also for students and parents who need to call the academies for information, to report absences and to solve any other issues.
The results
The rollout of the solution to all of the Trust’s academies will enable even greater savings on its line, calls and maintenance bills.
The new solution is already saving the Trust £15,000 and further savings are anticipated.
