Monthly Spotlight: Windows 10 End of Life
The end is here for Windows 10, and Microsoft will stop releasing security patches, fixes, and feature updates.
Despite all the risk warnings and countdown communication to the Windows 10 EOL deadline on 14 October 2025, research shows that 45% of devices are still running on Windows 10.
Many businesses are planning to buy Extended Security Updates (ESUs) as a stopgap, but that’s exactly what it is – a very expensive delay.
You’ll still need to migrate in the future, and you’ll be paying a premium in the meantime.
The risks are not hypothetical.

Industry Intel: What’s the latest?
Microsoft brings Claude to 365 Copilot
Microsoft is opening up Copilot to more AI models. Alongside OpenAI’s models, users will now be able to tap into Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Opus 4.1. The move gives customers more flexibility in choosing the AI brains behind Copilot. The rollout starts with the Researcher feature (via the Frontier Program) and Copilot Studio, where enterprise users can build and customise their own AI agents.
Zoomtopia 2025
Zoom is doubling down on its evolution into an AI-powered productivity platform. At Zoomtopia, they unveiled AI Companion 3.0, an agentic assistant that can optimise your schedule, pull context across Slack, Google, and Microsoft, and even suggest which meetings to skip.
Other highlights included smarter sales prospecting, industry-specific AI tools, photorealistic avatars, and improved writing support. The theme was clear: AI that gives people time back to focus on the work that matters.
Cybersecurity in Education
Hackers have hit a UK nursery chain, threatening to publish sensitive data of children and staff – showing how no one is off-limits when it comes to security breaches. The breach came through a third-party app – another reminder that your security is only as strong as your weakest links. Now’s the time to review third-party access, rotate key admin passwords, and enforce MFA wherever possible.
Malvertising with Microsoft Teams
A new malvertising campaign is pushing Oyster malware through fake Microsoft Teams downloads. By hijacking search ads, attackers trick users into downloading malware instead of the genuine client. The lesson: always get software direct from verified vendor domains – not search results. Educate employees to double-check domains before installing anything.
